Safari Themed DIY Birthday Party

 

Reception was at my Friend's Church, Elect Bride Assembly in Pasig

We've been chasing that perfect moment and trying really hard to make it happen;well in fact,there isn't such thing as perfect and it's the time of the year where I've been looking for distractions and hobbies to keep me busy. There comes Birthday Parties!

I've been this crafty crafty girl who's going crazy over designs and arts since I was a kid and it's been an overwhelming and satisfying experience to me to be part of something that can make someone happy. And the best part is I'm doing it for a kid. Nothing says happiness better than a birthday celebrant's face when he enters a room full kids running around,having fun in a colorful room and it better be themed,of course! :)

This is my first picture with Seth Marcus,he turned 3 year old today. he's my friend's son and kinda aloof from me. As you can see he's reaching out his hands, somewhat reaching for help but first,smile!We're on camera. :)

It's like he's pouting but he's really pointing at the direction where the chocolate fountain was.

Kids just can't get enough of goofing around when they're all together so I have to carry heme around so I can have a picture to post in this blog today. :)

What Liz did was planned a Pic-a Pic-A party since guests are mainly kids.
It's organized and not so messy in distribution part of it too. Wise Move!

I've been thinking of something to fill up spaces in such a big room and I came up with these.

Since I've made Seth's name really big and colorful,the greeting should be somewhat catchy too!
Here's the Neon Orange cut-outs with two colored leaves around it. It's actually neon green and dark green but it doesn't look like it is due to some filter the photographer used.

My Friend Liz who opted to have a small gathering but ended up having a blast, as in.

Let me just take time to commend one of the bravest woman I've known.

The whole back story is kinda lengthy but her life in a nutshell is more like: She's a single Mom with responsibility encompassing two families, her immediate and her own which is consist of herself and his son plus lots of responsibility.

I used to chat with her like,all the time. And we're both giving advice about each other's misfortunes in love. This is the pangpelikula line and my favorite:

Whenever she's feeling down having the thought of celebrating her son's birthday without a father,I always remind her na:

"Years from now,marerealize ng anak mo na hindi niya kailangan ng lalaking walang balls na tumupad ng commitment,hindi niya kailangan ng taong paulit-ulit na tinotorture yung Nanay niya emotionally because of his infidelity. He'll look back and all he'll remember is in every happy birthday he had, he has his Mother who's brave enough to take all the responsibilities of not just a Mom but also a Dad."

Anyway,to end this blog,we had lots of fun preparing. i won't take credit for all the designs kasi mine is just a part of it. Some out of school youth from the said church helped us in decorations and they're actually planning to set up a business with those skills in hand. I think I'll be posting more about it soon. :)
